Jeep is heading into 2025 with an aggressive product rollout and a focus on electrification, all under the direction of new leadership. Leading the charge is Bob Broderdorf, Jeep’s North America head, who took over in September 2024. Reporting to Antonio Filosa, Jeep’s global CEO, Broderdorf is tasked with executing Jeep’s ambitious plans despite a year of internal changes, including the resignation of Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

The 2025/2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, Jeep’s first fully electric SUV for the U.S., is now in production. Built in Toluca, Mexico, the SUV faced software delays that pushed its launch beyond the original fall 2024 target. Early models began arriving at dealerships in late 2024, with Broderdorf describing the vehicles as “good enough to ship.”
The Wagoneer S features a 600-horsepower electric powertrain, a 45-inch interior screen, and styling that blends sophistication with Jeep’s rugged DNA. Its marketing campaign, “Beautiful things can still get dirty,” debuted during an NFL game on Netflix, emphasizing the SUV’s blend of luxury and capability.
The Wagoneer S’s name, originally temporary, has been retained. Jeep plans to use the “S” to highlight its speed, sophistication, and sportiness while offering buyers multiple configurations, including two- and three-row options, as well as hybrid and electric powertrains.

Jeep will introduce a new midsize SUV this year to replace the discontinued Jeep Cherokee, which left a gap in the lineup after its departure in February 2023. While Jeep hasn’t confirmed if the Cherokee name will return, Broderdorf acknowledges its historical and cultural significance.
The new SUV will be built on the STLA Large platform, which supports internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains. A hybrid option is confirmed, with more details expected as regulatory guidelines evolve.
Electric Jeep Recon Set for 2025
The Jeep Recon, a fully electric off-road SUV, is also slated for launch this year. Positioned below the Wrangler in off-road capability, it rides on the STLA Large platform and represents Jeep’s push into the electric off-roading segment.
Broderdorf is confident the Recon will resonate with customers looking for an eco-friendly yet rugged Jeep experience.

Future Plans and Leadership Optimism
Plans for extended-range versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer three-row SUVs are on hold until late 2025.
Meanwhile, Broderdorf is optimistic about Jeep’s trajectory under new leadership, crediting Filosa and interim Stellantis CEO John Elkann for bringing focus and energy to the brand.
Broderdorf’s strategy is clear: target key segments with Jeep’s hallmark blend of capability and innovation. “I’m picking the heart of every segment and putting a Jeep there,” he says. With electrification and new models driving the agenda, Jeep is set for a transformative 2025.
